The Tour Around Jalisco in 7 Nights

Day 1 Origin City – Guadalajara Reception at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Check-in, rest of the day free. Overnight in Guadalajara

Day 2 Guadalajara and Tlaquepaque Pueblo Mágico Breakfast at the hotel. We begin our day with a walking tour of Guadalajara’s Historic Center, starting in front of the Government Palace. During the tour, we will see the famous murals by José Clemente Orozco, Plaza de Armas, and the Rotunda of Illustrious Men and Women of Jalisco, with their sculptures surrounding the circle. We will visit the Metropolitan Cathedral, the catacomb chapels, and continue to Plaza de la Liberación, passing by the neoclassical Degollado Theater and Founders Plaza. We will visit the Expiatory Temple of the Blessed Sacrament, a beautiful neoclassical building that took 75 years to complete. We then head to San Pedro Tlaquepaque, a town adjacent to Guadalajara known for its crafts. We will walk along the main avenue with galleries from various artisans, including the Bustamante Art Gallery by Sergio, a world-renowned sculptor. Free time for lunch. Return to the hotel. Day 3 Chapala – Ajijic Pueblo Mágico – Guadalajara Breakfast at the hotel. Meeting in the lobby. Departure to the Chapala lakeside. We pass by the exterior of Vicente Fernández’s ranch and visit the largest western store in Mexico. Arrival in Chapala, known as the “little corner of love” for being a honeymoon destination for Golden Age Mexican cinema personalities, including María Félix. We visit the Chapala boardwalk and have time for shopping. We will share the story of Mezcala Island, site of a major battle during Mexico’s War of Independence. Free time to explore and shop at the artisan market. At the time indicated by the guide, we continue to Ajijic, named Pueblo Mágico by Mexico’s tourism department. This typical town features cobblestone streets and adobe houses. We will take a walking tour, visit the boardwalk, art galleries, and the wall of the dead. Opportunity for lunch. Return to Guadalajara. Overnight in Guadalajara

Day 4 Guadalajara – Guachimontones with Ex Hacienda – Guadalajara Breakfast at the hotel. Meeting in the lobby. After about 60 minutes of travel, we begin our tour at the Guachimontones archaeological site along the Tequila Route. This site offers tradition, history, fun, and mysticism in every stone and structure, dating back over 2000 years. The main structures are circular pyramids built in tribute to the Wind God. The area is known for its Ex Haciendas, some preserved and others converted into luxury lodgings. The visit is unforgettable, evoking the customs, traditions, and gastronomy of Jalisco. Time for lunch. Return to Guadalajara. Overnight in Guadalajara

Day 5 Guadalajara – Opal Mines – Guadalajara Breakfast at the hotel. Meeting in the lobby. We travel to Magdalena to visit its extraordinary opal mines. With over 200 mines, this small city of 30,000 inhabitants is the second-largest opal producer in the world. We visit a gallery to see opals in jewelry and crafts, then continue to an open-pit mine to search for our own opal. Safety rules will be explained, and we will wear protective gear. With pick and hammer, we will break rocks in hopes of finding a mineral vein. Return to Guadalajara. Overnight in Guadalajara

Day 6 Amatitán and Tequila – Guadalajara Breakfast at the hotel. Meeting in the lobby at the agreed time. In the morning, we travel along the Tequila Route to learn about the history and origin of Mexico’s traditional beverage. Our first stop is Amatitán, where we visit the agave landscape viewpoint. Our guide will explain the blue agave Tequilana Weber. We will enjoy a professional organoleptic tequila tasting with regional pairings in an exclusive setting. We then continue to the Pueblo Mágico of Tequila, visiting its central area and iconic streets. We visit Casa Cofradía distillery, where we learn about the tequila production process, taste cooked agave and tequila at 55 percent alcohol, and sample locally produced tequilas. Lunch at the underground restaurant “La Taberna del Cofrade,” recognized with the “Treasures of Mexico” distinction and a set menu. Return to Guadalajara. Overnight in Guadalajara

Day 7 Guadalajara – Mazamitla – Guadalajara Breakfast at the hotel. Meeting in the lobby. Departure from Guadalajara to Mazamitla, located at 2250 meters above sea level in the Sierra del Tigre. Known for its cobblestone streets, tiled roofs, white walls, and wooden doors. The name Mazamitla comes from Nahuatl and means “place where arrows are made to hunt deer.” A beautiful destination for couples to stroll and enjoy traditional mountain cuisine. We will visit the Temple of San Cristóbal and one of the adventure parks for a pleasant walk. Time for lunch. Return to Guadalajara. Overnight in Guadalajara

Day 8 Tequila – Origin City Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out and transfer to the airport for return. End of services
